RULES OF THE WORKING BEARDED COLLIE SOCIETY
1 We are known as the Working Bearded Collie Society2 Our aim is to form a register for the Working Bearded Collie and to promote
the dogs as genuine working dogs once again.
3 We intend to hold ‘meets’ to show our dogs abilities and meet new Beardie
owners, so as to plan future matings etc to ensure the continuation of the breed.
4 We aim to send out newsletters to help keep members in touch and informed.
5 Subscriptions are to run 1st January to 31st December each year. Anyone
joining on or after 1st July will pay the joining fee plus half of the annual sum.
6 Any ideas, complaints or suggestions are to be put in writing, signed and sent
to any committee member. These will be circulated to the Committee members
prior to a meeting, and they will be discussed at the next Committee meeting.
7 The Society will hold an AGM and any proposals, additions to or alterations of
rules need to be sent to the Society at least one month BEFORE the AGM to
enable time for circulation to members BEFORE THE AGM.
8 That anyone holding a position with the Society, possessing any materials or
information that is the property of the WBCS, agree to hand over such properties
on cessation of a position held, or cessation of membership.
9 The Society’s name can only used on Society business.
10 Breeding: The Society recommends that no bitch should be mated before
18 months of age, or more than once per calendar year (for the welfare of the bitch).
The Society strongly discourages close relative mating. Puppies should not leave the
breeder before 8 weeks old.
11 Registration of Puppies. The Society recommends all litters should be registered
by the breeder. It is the sole responsibility of the Breeder/Owner, and not the
purchaser of the puppy. No part litters will be registered. Dogs and puppies are only
eligible for registration with the WBCS by fully paid up members of the Society.
12 Any member who repeatedly flaunts any of the Society’s Rules or Constitution
will be referred to the committee.
13 Any activity organised in the name of the Society must have prior approval by the
Committee. Any member acting as an individual and not adhering to this rule may
be asked to leave the Committee and possibly even the Society.
