When members breed a litter and have puppies available for sale, we ask   that you inform our Dog Registration Secretary, Janice Jackson via our email address (info@workingbeardies.co.uk).  All we need to know is the date of birth, how many puppies are available, sometimes the colour, the breeder's details and whether they are dogs or bitches.

We are often getting enquiries for working bearded puppies BUT OUR MEMBERS ARE NOT TELLING US WHEN THEY HAVE PUPPIES AVAILABLE, and worst of all not registering them.  All we will do is pass the details on to the prospective owner and it is up to them and the breeder to ask the right questions.  We only act as a liaison between the two.

NOTE OF CAUTION

When considering taking on a Working Bearded Collie puppy every care should be taken in the selection process.   You probably have already decided what you want the puppy to do eg work with stock, obedience,    agility, or just be a good companion.  Try and see both parents and if possible see them working - especially if the puppy is required to work       with stock.  You can tell the temperament of the parents by seing how they react to their owners and to you, as a complete stranger.  Take some time over this process as the puppy will become a major part of your life and the life of your family.  You could buy a puppy, which turns out to be unsuitable for your family.  You could buy a puppy, which turns out to be unsuitable for the job intended if you don't ask the right questions.  Ask lots of questions BEFORE you agree to buy.

Good luck in your future selection process.  WBCS COMMITTEE
